In the scripture lessons for this service, we first find Paul arguing astutely before the council of the Areopagus in Athens. He argues that the God of all creation is not bound to altars made by human hands. The God of the universe is not an unknown God, but one who is known in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the gospel lesson, Jesus tells his disciples that the time is coming when the world will no longer see him, though he promises his continued presence through the Holy Spirit, who will abide with them.

Please note: In the interest of public health, the Chapel is closed to visitors and all in-person services, concerts, and other events remain canceled until further notice. We continue to pray regularly for Duke, Durham, the nation, and the world, and offer online resources for prayer and livestreams of services. We invite you to engage online with us.
