At Larks we use old things to do new things. New storytelling things. Larks, or undefinable lovely, delightful storytelling happenings that will leave you simultaneously smiling and pondering, will add a bit of much needed malarkey to the middle of your day. Yup, everybody needs a bit of malarkey. Everybody needs a chance to shake it out and shake it up. Larks will pop up throughout campus giving participants a chance to defy expectations, practice creativity, exercise their imagination, cultivate storytelling cheer, and open their minds to bold new unexpected turns in their/our story.

Felicity can mean both an intense joy and a well-chosen expression or phrase. At our Larks, you’ll encounter both definitions. You’ll certainly have spontaneous fun; polaroid cameras, typewriters, vintage Apple Macintoshes, old t-shirts—these are just some of the old things we’ll use to explore (y)our new story. And you’ll certainly be challenged to articulate (y)our story in novel and noble ways. How does an old t-shirt connect to new storytelling? Good question—join our Lark and find out!

Keep an eye out for our rolling storytelling spectacles and add your point of view to the mix.

“I want to think again
of dangerous and noble things.
I want to be light and frolicsome.
I want to be improbable, beautiful and afraid of nothing, as though I had wings."

Mary Oliver
