Welcome to Duke Chapel—Summer Maintenance Work
Located at the heart of Duke’s West Campus, Duke Chapel is a sanctuary for all people. Students are invited to participate in all aspects of the life of the Chapel.
This summer, maintenance on Science Drive will at times limit access to the Bryan Center parking garage and parking lot. Read more.
Hours
The Chapel is open to the public daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. All are welcome in the sanctuary during these hours for reflection, prayer, or meditation, as well as to view the building’s soaring Gothic architecture and vibrant stained-glass windows. Please enter through the double wooden doors at the front of the Chapel or the ADA ramp, which is on the right side of the Chapel as you face the building from the front. Note: The Chapel is occasionally closed to the public for special events, so please check our calendar before coming for a visit.
Services
The Chapel holds worship services Sundays at 11:00 a.m. throughout the year as well as a Choral Evensong service on some Sundays at 4:00 p.m. and special services on other days. All are invited to join us in worship. See our calendar for details for each service. Most all of the services are streamed live on our YouTube channel. Members of the Duke community may request to reserve the Chapel for weddings or memorials. Learn more.
Students
The Chapel offers undergraduate and graduate students many ways to connect their faiths and learning at Duke: belong to one of the campus Religious Life groups, become a Chapel Scholar, participate in worship services, sing in a Chapel choir, enroll in Chapel-supported House Courses, work a student job at the Chapel, and serve with community partners in Durham.
