Sunday Service with Liturgical Dance

The Sunday morning service at 11:00 a.m. on June 18 will include liturgical dance by Tony Johnson. A resident of Durham, Johnson is being celebrated for his choreography and leadership at this summer’s American Dance Festival with a documentary, a new dance, and a scholarship named in his honor. His experience with liturgical dance goes back to an invitation to dance in a service at Duke Chapel in 1991. Since then, he has been interweaving dance with his faith and his ministry to people who are homeless.

The service will also have music from vocalists serving as faculty for this year's Chorworks summer program in early music.
