Publishing New Music for Choirs and the Church

In a recent interview, Chapel Music Director Dr. Zebulon Highben discussed the Music from Duke Chapel Series, a collaboration between Chapel Music and ECS Publishing Group/MorningStar Music to publish new choral anthems and other sacred compositions from Duke Chapel.

"Duke Chapel has a very long history of commissioning and premiering new music," Dr. Highben said in the interview. "A choral series gives us an opportunity to focus that creative work into one place and share it a little more directly, a little more intentionally."

He described the variety of compositions in the series as representing "the high-art performance music that choirs are capable of, simpler things that are nevertheless well crafted that smaller choirs can do, and also music that connects to the hymnody of the church."
