Duke Chapel, the Congregation at Duke Chapel, and the Religious Coalition for a Nonviolent Durham are holding a virtual retreat on “Justice and the Spiritual Crisis of Gun Violence” this Saturday, November 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 12-noon.

This retreat will explore the complexity of gun violence in Durham by listening to multiple voices engaged in its tragiceveryday reality. Retreat participants will hear from neighbors on every side of violence, including representatives from our law enforcement, local government, and judicial systems. Special guests Rev. Dr. Fatimah Salleh, founder of A Certain Work, and Ben Haas, executive director of the Religious Coalition for a Nonviolent Durham, will guide participants into conversation with these voices and one another, inviting all to reflect on God’s presence within the suffering caused by gun violence as well as to consider God’s call to each of us in response.
