Online Service March 14 to Mark Pandemic Anniversary

Approximately one year ago, the COVID-19 pandemic began its rapid spread across the United States. In response, churches, universities, and schools suspended in-person activities and began the shift to online services and courses. We will mark the anniversary of the pandemic in a brief service on Sunday, March 14, at 4:00 p.m.

In this online service, we will lament the things that we have lost-lives, incomes, stability—and pray for God's healing and restoration of ourselves, our communities, and our world. The prerecorded service will include prayers, the hymn "There Is a Balm in Gilead," scripture readings, virtual anthems from the Chapel Choir, and a homily from Chapel Dean Luke A. Powery.
