On Saturday (October 26), the Chapel community teamed up with the Duke student chapter of Habitat for Humanity, Congregation at Duke Chapel, Duke Office of Durham and Community Affairs, and other Duke groups for a Habitat for Humanity kickoff to celebrate a new home being built.

About forty people participated in the ceremony, which included words of encouragement, spoken prayers, and blessings written on the house's walls. The future owner of the home, Dory, was on hand to offer her testimony and thanks.

After the opening remarks, Dory, Habitat staff, and volunteers got to work on the house, raising one of its walls.
