Sunday morning worship service
This Sunday in our 11:00 a.m. worship service, we will welcome guest preacher Dr. J. Ross Wagner, associate professor of New Testament at Duke Divinity School. Specializing in Paul’s letters and in Septuagint studies, Professor Wagner seeks to contribute to the recovery of theological exegesis through careful investigation of the ways scriptural interpretation shaped early Jewish and Christian communities. An Anglican priest, he serves as volunteer clergy at All Saints Church in Durham and takes an active part in the Divinity School’s Anglican-Episcopal House of Studies.
This Sunday morning service, which will mark Reformation Sunday, will include Martin Luther's well-known hymn "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God." The Amalgam Brass ensemble joins the the Chapel Choir and organists in leading the music for the service.
Following the service, all are invited for refreshments and casual conversation with Chapel Choir members in the lounge in the Chapel's lower level.
