Candle and singers
The Chapel's Choral Vespers and Choral Evensong services begin this week. Choral Vespers is a service of hymns, prayers, psalms, organ music, and choral anthems led by the Duke Chapel Vespers Ensemble. Its repertoire is centered on the music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, often accompanied by period instruments. Choral Evensong is a service centered on psalms and biblical canticles, derived from the historic prayer offices of the Christian church. Evensong follows the liturgy of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, and features choral and organ music of the English cathedral tradition, led by the Duke Chapel Evensong Singers.
