On Sunday afternoons at 4:00 p.m. throughout the academic year in Duke Chapel, the Duke Evensong Singers lead the service of Choral Evensong, which consists of evening prayers set to music. Distinct from the noisy world around us and derived from the traditions of the ancient church, Choral Evensong provides sanctuary through scripture and sacred music. Working closely with the Evensong Singers, two Duke Organ Scholars learn and hone the craft of sacred music by providing organ accompaniment for the choir in services. The Evensong Singers was formed in 2015 and is directed by Duke University Chapel Organist Christopher Jacobson, FRCO.

Singers join by audition. The ensemble requires a high level of musical ability and commitment. For more information about the Evensong Singers, please contact the Chapel Organist.
