Celebrating Duke’s Faith Communities

We Believe was a two-day journey into the heart of Duke’s religious and cultural diversity. Through joyful experiences, thought-provoking conversations, and moments of quiet reflection, the event invited participants to connect with Duke's vibrant faith communities.

Attendees explored themes of Feasting and Fasting, Gathering and Departing, and Sound and Silence—each inspired by practices from Duke's diverse religious traditions. With a Commonplace Book and Passport in hand, they traveled to various locations on campus, collected stamps, recorded reflections, and engaged in meaningful encounters.

Students: You can still collect stamps in your passports through the end of the semester for a chance to win a prize! Keep exploring, reflecting, and connecting with Religious Life at Duke.

Every college student should educate themselves on what it actually means to practice religion in today’s world — with all its nuances and dimensions. It is too powerful an influence to be neglected or dismissed by intelligent students preparing to engage empathetically with the people around them.
