Public Conversation on Gun Violence Oct. 15

In the wake of recent gun violence across the nation and in Durham, Chapel Dean Luke A. Powery will convene a public conversation "Every Life Sacred: The Urgency to End Gun Violence" on Tuesday, October 15, at 7:00 p.m. The discussion will include faith, academic, and civic leaders. It is part of the Chapel’s Bridge Panel series, which seeks to connect people from disparate walks of life in order to discover shared pathways toward the beloved community of God. The panelists include:

  • Rob Belcher, founder of Chance2Change
  • Chief Cerelyn Davis, chief of the Durham Police Department
  • Dr. Kristin Goss, Kevin D. Gorter Professor of Public Policy and Political Science at Duke
  • The Rev. Ben Haas, executive director of the Religious Coalition for a Nonviolent Durham
