A Chapel Highlight
Organ Voicing Work
This summer the Chapel’s Benjamin N. Duke Memorial Organ (also called the Flentrop) is being “re-voiced” in order to address some age-related issues with the pipes. Voicing is a process by which each pipe is manipulated by hand to play with the proper speech, tone, and volume. The work will occur on weekdays from July 16 through August 17 and will require complete quiet in the Chapel’s main sanctuary (nave).
Visitors will be asked to enter and exit through the side transept doors so as not to disturb the work. Learn more about the project.
