The Summer Internship Program offers students an opportunity to bridge faith and learning while living in Christian community and exploring careers in non-profits, churches, businesses, and other local organizations. The program is open to all Duke undergraduates—except those enrolled in summer classes—but special consideration is given to PathWays Chapel Scholars
Selected Summer Interns will:
  • spend eight weeks living and building community with peers in an intentional Christian community in Durham
  • participate in weekly Discernment Dinners and hear stories of calling from members of the Duke/Durham community
  • engage with Chapel staff through weekly discussion and theological reflection on living and working in Durham
  • enjoy a mid-summer retreat centered on community-building and prayer
  • receive a generous stipend.

The Director of Community Ministry works closely with internship applicants to discern the best local placement partner.
