Sunday Service with Original Hymn and Guest Choir
Loading...
The scripture readings for the service this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. remind us that, in the midst of the dryness of Lent, in Christ we find a radical and never-ending source of renewal and life. Leading the singing will be the Chancel Choir from Salisbury Presbyterian Church, Midlothian, Virginia.
The hymn after the sermon in the service, "Look at the Trees," is an original composition, both text and tune, by Duke Divinity School student Sarah Lapp. The text is based upon Psalm 1 and also the passage from John 4 that will be read in the service. The hymn was written as the final project for a hymnody course at the Divinity School that was taught by Chapel Music Director Dr. Zebulon Highben.
