Religious Life Leaders Explore Roots of Spiritual Practice
Campus Religious Life leaders will discuss the deep roots of contemporary spiritual practices in a series of talks in February. The approach of the series is to promote appreciation of spiritual practices of various faith traditions, instead of appropriation of those practices.
Each talk will take place on a Thursday between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. in the Chaplin Family Study Room in the Brodhead Center. See below for a listing of topics, dates, and presenters.
Preregistration is encouraged. Register here.

Join with other graduate students to explore the interreligious work of deeper engagement with the earth. The one-day retreat “Sacred Earth: Land as Spiritual Practice” on March 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. will be held at Respite in the Round, a local farm and retreat center. The group will spend the day walking the land, hearing stories, eating good food, resting, and reflecting on the intertwining work of land stewardship and spiritual reflection. The retreat will build on conversations started during the February Spiritual Practices series, although attendance at this series not required. Breakfast and lunch are provided. To learn, contact the Rev. Kathryn Lester-Bacon, the Chapel’s director of Religious Life, at kathryn.lester.bacon@duke.edu.
