Faculty and Staff Find Beauty, Community, Service at the Chapel
A new video feature from Working@Duke shows how Duke employees contribute to, and are enriched by, the life of Duke Chapel—from attending worship services and singing in the choir to serving in the community and more:
Dr. Karen Steinhauser, a professor in the Duke Department of Population Health Sciences, says the Chapel Choir “was just an immediate way to get to know one another and lots of people I wouldn’t have normally come into contact with.”
“I have to keep coming back to a place that I feel is beautiful, invites wonder,” says the Rev. Dr. Keith Daniel, an instructor at Duke and member of the Chapel’s National Advisory Board. “It invites intentionality about wanting to know my neighbors from whatever walks of life they come from.”
“I can say to my colleagues and others here at Duke that this is what Duke Chapel is all about,” he says.
