Duke Centennial Events Kick Off

Duke University is launching a yearlong celebration of its centennial—a historic opportunity to recognize Duke’s extraordinary past, communicate the impact of the present, and look toward the potential of Duke’s future.

The Centennial Celebration Kickoff is Tuesday, January 9, at 4:00 p.m. in Cameron Indoor Stadium, featuring Duke luminaries Ken Jeong ’90, Lisa Borders, and Coach K as well as performances by student groups. Tickets required to attend in person; livestream available.

Duke alumnus and trustee Grant Hill, an Olympian and Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, will be the keynote speaker for the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration on Sunday, January 14, at 4:00 p.m. in Duke Chapel. Free admission, no tickets; livestream available.

On Sunday, April 14, at 4:00 p.m., the Duke Chapel Choir joins forces with a host of guest artists to present "Our First Lady of Jazz," a concert blending vocal jazz, gospel, spirituals, and the blues in a celebration of Black sacred music, featuring the works of Mary Lou Williams. Tickets required.
