Dean Powery to Preach at German Church Made Famous by Martin Luther

Duke Chapel Dean Luke A. Powery is the keynote speaker and guest preacher for a theological conference June 27–29 in Leipzig and Wittenberg, Germany. 

Organized by the Center for Protestant Worship and Preaching Culture, the conference has the theme “Homiletic Fire: Preaching and the Holy Spirit.” For it, Dean Powery will address the theology faculty of the University of Leipzig on the topic of “Traces of the Homiletic Spirit” and lead a workshop on “Preaching in a Spiritual Key.”

On Sunday, June 29, he will preach at the Castle Church in Wittenberg, which is historically significant as the site where Martin Luther posted his Ninety-five Theses in 1517.
