Bach Cantata Concert Dec. 1
Called "one of the most remarkable musical treasures of the Triangle," the Chape's Bach Cantata Series continues Sunday, December 1, at 5:15 p.m. The program for the concert includes Lieber Herr Gott, wekke uns auf by J. S. Bach, Nun komm der Heiden Heiland by M. Praetorius, and Magnificat by M. Zielenski.
This year's series focuses on themes of salvation and redemption. It includes cantatas by Johann Sebastian and Johann Christoph Bach, George Frideric Handel, Michael Praetorius, and Mikolaj Zielenski. Soloists include Andrea Edith Moore, Molly Quinn, Tamsin Simmill, Daniel Shirley, Tony Boutteé, James Reese, and David Newman. Duke Bach Ensemble and Mallarmé Chamber Players are directed by Dr. Philip Cave.
Admission is free. Event parking is available for $5 on a first-come-first-served basis in the Bryan Center Parking Garage at 125 Science Drive. ADA parking is available at the same address in the Bryan Center Surface Lot.
