After a yearlong restoration, the Chapel has reopened! We invite all Duke Students to #FindSanctuary with us on October 4th as we continue to celebrate the reopening with joy and gratitude. Here are four different opportunities to be in the Chapel on October 4th.

Silent Time

8:00 am - 8:30 am

Duke Chapel opens daily at 8:00 a.m., and the first 30 minutes are protected “silent time” for quiet personal prayer and reflection. Instructions will be available for mindfulness meditations and self-guided prayer.

Organ Demo

12:30 pm - 1:00 pm

Sit in the Chancel, learn "behind the scences" facts about the Chapel's organs, listen to a live demonstration of the “king of instruments,” and chat with Chapel Organist Christopher Jacobson.

Tuesdays in the Crypt

5:15 pm - 6:15 pm

Tuesdays in the Crypt is a new worship service centered on prayer, conversation, and listening. Each week will have a different theme for reflection, and this week’s theme is “How can we find rest in God?” The discussion will be led by Adam Hollowell, director of student ministry at Duke Chapel. The event is pro-participation + anti-perfection and attendees are welcome to share in worship roles as they are willing.

Ciompi Quartet Concert

5:30 pm - 6:30pm

Listen in on a recital by the Ciompi Quartet in the Chapel's chancel. The quartet was founded at Duke University in 1965 by the renowned Italian violinist Giorgio Ciompi. All its members are professors at Duke and play a leading role in its cultural life.
