Paintings by Lemurs: On Exhibit at Duke Chapel
Location: Duke Chapel
Lemurs and lions and tigers, oh my! In celebration of the Feast Day of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals, the iconic Duke University Chapel has partnered with the DLC and the Carolina Tiger Rescue to display animal-created artwork in its main sanctuary. Stop by the Chapel now through October 11 to see paintings created by our lemurs, as well as "Pawcassos" painted by the CTR's lions, tigers, and even a kinkajou! The DLC's featured artists include Halley, Ravo, and their twins Cosmo and Astro, ruffed lemurs; Pedro and Olivier, a mongoose lemur and a blue-eyed black lemur; Jeb and Cheyanne, a crowned lemur and a red-bellied lemur; Pyxis, Bode, and Borealis, ruffed lemurs; and Licinius and Tellus, ring-tailed lemurs. Look for footprints, fingerprints, and tail swipes in these original works of lemur art!
