Duke Week of Wellness: Chapel Stair Climb
Location: Duke Chapel

Get a breathtaking 360-degree view of Duke campus and Durham by climbing the 239 hidden steps to the top of Duke Chapel. The Duke Chapel is an icon of Duke University and was formally dedicated on June 2, 1935. Sitting at 210 feet high, the chapel is constructed of stone from the Duke Quarry in Hillsborough, NC. The chapel climb tours focus on the interior of the Duke Chapel tower, ascending 239 steps and usually run for 20 to 30 minutes, including time to enjoy the view from the top of the chapel roof. Although climbing the Chapel is safe, each person who plans to climb the chapel will need to fill out a waiver. Participants should also plan to wear sensible shoes (i.e. no flip-flops, heels, or sandals).
Time: Noon – 4 p.m.
