Celebration of Music
Location: Duke Chapel
Duke Chapel Choir, Vespers Ensemble, and Evensong Singers

Since the moment of Duke Chapel's opening, music has been infused into every aspect of its life. From university worship to memorial services, weddings to concerts large and small, music brings people to the Chapel and guides their journey during their time here. This year, we celebrate the reopening of the Chapel after a year of restoration, beginning with this grand gala concert. All three Chapel choirs (the Chapel Choir, Vespers Ensemble, and Evensong Singers) will perform individual selections, as well as joining forces with a large brass ensemble on powerful arrangements of favorite hymns of the church. The concert will also feature a newly commissioned festival anthem by South Carolina composer Dan Forrest and music on the grand organs of the Chapel.

*Concert-goers are encouraged to arrive an hour in advance of the concert.* Free parking will be available beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the campus Blue Zone lots on Wannamaker Dr., between Towerview Rd. and Duke University Rd (see a map). A shuttle will be available for transportation from the parking lot to Duke Chapel. People who choose to walk from the parking lot to the Chapel are encouraged to go down Wannamaker Dr. towards West Campus, turn left on Towerview Rd., and then turn right onto Abele Quad (see a map). Handicap parking will be available in front of the Chapel for vehicles with a valid ADA permit.
