1:00 pm
Carillon Recital
Location: Duke Chapel
J. Samuel Hammond
Duke's 50-bell carillon is one of the oldest such instruments in the American South. Mr. Hammond's recital will honor the 65th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's accession. Due to the location of the Carillon in the bell tower, the music is best heard outside the chapel, from the Chapel Quad. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets, and to dress warmly for the event. Please also plan for inclement weather, if there is rain. The concert will last about 45 minutes. $2 hourly parking can be found in the Bryan Center Parking Deck, located at 125 Science Drive. ADA Parking will be in the Bryan Center Surface Lot, immediately in front of the parking deck. For any questions or concerns, please contact us at dukechapel@duke.edu or at 919-681-9488.
