Our New Day Begun: The Faith of Duke's First Black Voices
Panel Discussion
This moderated panel discussion, hosted by the Rev. Dr. Luke Powery, Dean of Duke Chapel, will be an opportunity to hear from some of the black trailblazers who have helped integrate Duke University over the last 50 years. In particular, it will focus on the role that religious faith played in the struggles, challenges, joys, and opportunities experienced by the "firsts" at Duke. Parking will be available for $5 (cash only) from 8:30-10:45 a.m. in the circular lot nearest the Bryan Center. Note that all cars parked in this lot must be removed by 10:45 a.m. The $5 parking fee only covers the cost of parking during the panel discussion. If you plan to attend other Founders¿ Day events, alternate parking must be secured.
