Jean-Baptiste Robin, Organist of the Royal Chapel at the Palace of Versailles, is the current successor to Couperin, Marchand, and Daquin as "court musician" of that world-renowned palace. Widely regarded as one of the most accomplished French organists and composers of his generation, he has been acclaimed for his "clarity and virtuosity . . . synonymous with perfection" (Le Figaro). His recordings of the complete works of Couperin, Marchand, Mendelssohn, and Alain have been consistently praised by music critics and have garnered numerous prizes. M. Robin will perform the opening recital of this season's series on the Flentrop organ.
