News and Media Requeststhe Chapel’s mission. Please contact the communications manager with requests. Members of the news media who seek to shoot photography or video of the Chapel's exterior should contact Duke's University Communications.
For most public events, approved filming and photography can be done from either the rear of the main sanctuary (the nave) by the AV console or at an area by the right-front column reserved for members of the media. Both of these locations have a line-level XLR output for receiving audio from the house sound system. Aisles must be kept clear at all times. For special events, instructions for filming and photographing will be given by Chapel staff members. Photographers and videographers are asked to dress appropriately for the occasion they are covering. Please wear soft-soled shoes when shooting inside the Chapel.
Wedding Photography Policy

The Chapel's media ministry is funded in part through the generosity of the George and Mary Parkerson Endowment, which “was established in 1997 to be expended to distribute electronically (by television, radio, electronic mail, or other means) the religious services and special musical events of Duke Chapel.” Additional funds from Friends of Duke Chapel support ongoing live radio broadcasts. This dedicated support enables the Chapel to further extend its ministry to students at Duke, to patients in Duke Hospital, to viewers in the Triangle region, North Carolina, and the world.
